'Reinventing The Sun' sounds like a pretty ambitious thing to do and that is what this power trio is all about, I gather. This band has a vision & the will to make it happen. That they play their respective instruments like there's no tomorrow helps, of course. This is a completely DIY album: no record company nor management nor anything else that could alter their look on music was invited to come along for the ride. The only thing accepted was Ty Tabor of King's X's take on the mastering. That happened with a reason as Ty's band has the same no-nonsense, non conformist way of making their career happen. The Limit is -due to their own nature - hard to lump in with any of the present day musical categories: one time I can hear a young Rush and another time there's the odd King's X mingled with some Lizzy. But whatever the case, The Limit has that honest approach to musicianship that's seldom seen anymore and that could be part of their force to carve their own niche in the business. A warts 'n' all platter complete with rhythm errors & production glitches but with the obvious talent of this trio shining through all the way. Not for everyone but this here scribbler will play this a lot over the coming months. ( KVK) | |
